But our newest vessel also introduces some exciting new features and promises an ocean of fun, whether you cruise to the Caribbean, or The Bahamas. These are split up across suites, ocean-view cabins with balconies, ocean-view cabins without balconies, and interior staterooms. Carnival Horizon, like all Vista-class sisterships, has a new cabin category named aft-view extended balcony cabin which is exclusive to the Family Harbor area.

All Family Harbor staterooms feature a unique nautical décor inspired by the craft of seafaring itself. And while you sail along, the whole family will enjoy not only exclusive access to the nearby Family Harbor Lounge, but more great perks around the ship. To truly experience the cozy sanctuary that a harbor provides, check out a Family Harbor Interior stateroom. These rooms are not only an affordable way to keep the family close, but feature a unique nautical decor inspired by the craft of seafaring itself. And while you sail along, the whole family will enjoy exclusive access to the nearby Family Harbor Lounge, plus more great perks around the ship.

We teamed up with him to design not just the burgers and fries, but to help bring in the kind of rustic atmosphere you’d find at a roadside burger shack somewhere off a coastal highway. All signs point to ambiance — and serious flavor — so try a burger dressed up the way Guy likes it, or take it off-roading… to the nearby topping bar, where you can make it your own. The vessel was launched (floated out from drydock) on March 10, 2017, at Fincantieri's Marghera shipyard. The launching featured the traditional “coin ceremony”, consisting in welding a silver coin on the ship's top deck. Godmother of the launching ceremony was Clementina Zecchin (Fincantieri employee). The ceremony was attended by Richard Morse (Carnival's Senior VP Hotel Operations), Fabrizio Timossi (Carnival's Project Manager) and Antonio Quintano (Marghera yard's Director).

Family life is the sweet life, whether on land or at sea… and especially when in a Family Harbor Suite. Your whole crew will enjoy not only the stretch-out space, huge balcony and other perks a suite offers, but a nautical décor specially-designed for Family Harbor staterooms. And while you sail along, the kids and the adults can make use of exclusive access to the nearby Family Harbor Lounge, plus other exclusive perks around the ship. In-room, there’s a full bathroom… plus the convenience of a separate washroom. A private yacht it’s not… but leave the sailing to us — you’d rather be relaxing anyway. Cruising goes great with sunshine… and for a room where the family can expect a little extra of the sun’s gold streaming in through their window, check out a Family Harbor Ocean View stateroom with obstructed views.
The cruise ship's maiden voyage in the Mediterranean was from Barcelona. On May 9, the ship repositions to New York (arriving May 23, 2018) for a series of 8-night Caribbean cruises throughout the summer. On September 22, 2018, the Horizon continues to its next USA homeport Miami, for a year-round schedule of 6- and 8-night Caribbean itineraries. Long-known for an abundance of entertainment, Carnival is not sitting on its laurels with Horizon. The fun onboard starts with SkyRide, the industry's first open-air, pedal-powered aerial ride.
Carnival Horizon is a member of the Vista-class of cruise ships. The first Vista-class ship was Carnival Vista, which premiered in 2016. Carnival Vista was known for several new features, including the SkyRide (which you can read about further down) and the first IMAX theater at sea. There were also new Cuban-themed staterooms, as well as more entertainment options than ever before. Naturally, Carnival Horizon will deliver all the best tastes, sights, sounds and experiences cruisers have come to love aboard Carnival’s existing fleet of cruise ships.

The 3-deck high artwork was designed by the company Techno Media and consists of 33 different creations, The sculpture's centerpiece has over 2000 flexible LED (custom-made) tiles. This funnel-shaped central part has a height of 24 ft (7,3 m). The artwork is rotating, with patterns based on daytime, cruise port of call or special occasion. With more space for stretching out indoors, plus a large balcony for kicking back outdoors, try an Ocean Suite to experience private, luxurious relaxation. Ocean Suites also include VIP check-in, walk-in closet and bathroom with whirlpool tub.
Carnival Horizon actually features two movie theaters next door to one another, and we call the whole great big thing Carnival Multiplex. Behind door number one is an actual IMAX Theatre in all its huge-screen, huge-fun glory. Thrill Theater lives there, and you’re invited to the 3D experience where jump-off-the-screen visuals are only the beginning of a, shall we say, truly moving experience. Paradise will be yours during the day at Carnival Horizon's peaceful retreat — a special bar and pool, which transforms to a hot dance spot when the sun goes down.
Balcony staterooms are proof that while it’s great to be cruisey… on vacation, breeziness is a virtue too. And any time you’re in your well-appointed Balcony stateroom aboard Carnival Horizon, you’re just steps away from the outdoors by way of your private open-air oasis. Designed for kicking back al fresco, you’re in for some amazing ocean views… views so stunning you’ll just have to feel ‘em to believe ‘em. This spectacular "floating resort" offers everyone in the family something special and fun, including three pools, unique dining and bar concepts and spectacular outdoor spaces. With nearly 30 dining and drinking venues and an extensive variety of accommodations to suit everyone's needs — including many for families.
Of course, we’ve got you covered if you’re looking for a classic, but since you’re cruising, why not go for something tropical… or for the adults, maybe even spiked? With a variety of tempting, handcrafted shakes and indulgent floats, Shake Spot is your cool spot for something sweet. We call Carnival Horizon’s onboard burger spot Guy’s Burger Joint… and that’s “Guy” as in Guy Fieri.
Take a peek into what’s just ahead on the edge of tomorrow. Sometimes when you’re sharing a small cabin, it’s nice to do your “number two” business somewhere other than the in-room bathroom. If you want some privacy during the day while you use the restroom, check out the bathrooms in the Havana Bar. Located at the very back of the ship, this area is largely empty during the day and the bathrooms are hidden at the very back of the bar. Check it out next time you need somewhere to go in peace.
Complete with two whirlpools and the main pool, it’s a cool spot that’s normally off-limits to anyone not staying in a Havana room (you have to have a wristband to enter). Most people don’t know this, so the area stays pretty empty most of the time. If you want a pool and hot tub practically to yourself, head to deck 5 and check it out in the evening.
Inside, the suites offer rain showers and walk-in closets. But isn’t it a great time to stay connected and share the good times you’re having with everyone back home? That’s why your Carnival cruise gives you options for just how in-touch you want to stay.
Nothing beats relaxing by a pool with a nice drink in hand as you feel the fresh sea breeze pass by you. The problem is that with thousands of people on a ship, there's not always room. If you want to spend all day in a pool, a cruise might not be the right choice. You would have a much better bet choosing a resort with a huge pool complex. That being said, a quick dip in the pool can be nice on a hot day.
